You are right. It isn't the Amish. It is the global oligarchs.
No, it's the Muslims and they mostly kill each other over mindless grudges that are sometimes centuries old (like with the Shiites and the Sunnis) and they've been endlessly hostile to non-Muslims because their religion orders them to wage war on non-Muslims until the non-Muslims either die or surrender.
Here are 109 verses from the Koran that inspire violence from the Muslims against non-Muslims and more frequently against each other.

Western liberals tend to see recent history as the sum of history while the Muslims see all of history as if it happened yesterday. They don't forgive or forget. They nurture grudges and they will make treaties with their historic enemies to lull them into lowering their defenses. Which is why I will celebrate the four peace treaties Israel obtained from the Muslims while also praying that the Muslims do not follow their historic pattern of violating these treaties when it suits them.
Oligarchs are a problem all their own but you don't understand that Muslims would hate us regardless because their religion demands it of them. Being nice to them won't make them hate you any less.
Some years ago my church took in a refugee family. They'd come to the US as Muslims and discovered Christianity and converted. They had to flee their immigrant community because their former friends now wanted to kill them because the only way you are allowed to leave Islam is by death. That got me to read the Koran and learn about Islam.
I like their rules about hospitality and I've informally adopted them. Basically, they say it's a lie to give or accept things from people you hate/loathe/detest. I agree.
But the rest of it is enormously arrogant and intolerant of anyone who doesn't believe exactly the way they do.
Just like the modern leftists.
Feel free to read their holy book if you wish and discover this for yourself. The original Majid Fakhry translation is almost unique in that it is the only translation that was done by a native Arabic speaking cleric. Most of the English language translations were done by native English speakers and most of them were secular and liberal and they almost uniformly edited out the passages that speak to violence and the treatment/abuse of women. Many of them also edit out the passages that are openly favorable towards polygamy.
