Interesting, I make a lot of my own camping gear. What’s it called? Does it run in a regular sewing machine?
Awesome! It is called "Tenara" and "Gore" is the brand name.
The smaller thread might run on a regular home use machine, I am running big industrial machines so don't really have any experience with anything else.
This thread is lubricated, and reviews claim they can run higher speeds, and the needles stay cooler; that probably wouldn't be noticed though by the hobbyist who makes something occasionally.

Thanks man, I’ll have to look into that!

I did that to form crossword letters for my wife and I and our two boys, along with the last name DeLuca. That was fun! I'm sure it would be a lot more fun with more children...oh, and an additional wife on top of that!:D

So I headed out to the grocery store last night to pick up a few items, and the one item that I could not find, I mentioned it to the ladies at the checkout, as I was about to head out to my car. One of them was very sympathetic, but said that there was nothing that they could do about it. I even told her that I had requested it a while back, to no avail. That's how it goes some times.

We were down to our last bag of decaf tea, and the only decaf items I saw on the shelf, were family sized tea bags! I told the young lady that I would have to see if they had it at the local Walmart. So, this morning, I dropped my wife off, her first day on the new job. Yay for wifey! I had some time to kill, because I had to run to the bank to pay the rent, and the branch doesn't open until 9:00 AM, and there was no rush to start work, since I am on California time, so I don't start until about 10:00. That gave me plenty of time to run into the Walmart, to see if they carried the decaf tea I was looking for.

As I entered the Walmart and scanned for the tea aisle, I passed it, looked up, saw the sign which read Coffee/Tea, and made my way to that aisle. I walked past the shelves of coffee until I reached the tea section, and sure enough, there were boxes of decaf tea, in the individual sized bags. As I reached to get a box, I looked and beheld a sight whence I had not seen in a few years! On the shelf, sat a red box with the letters "Luzianne"!!!!! Also on the box, it said "Individual" and "100 packets"!!!!!!!

Now before the pandemic closed down all the businesses, I had reached a point of frustration, having been unable to find a box like this. I had inquired of the local grocery store to see if they could order it, to no avail. Instead they gave me a free box of the store brand. I tried it, and well,....the other 99 individual bags are still in the box, lying at the bottom of our pantry. Instead, I had opted for the Family sized Luzianne tea. Since I have been working from home though, I have resorted to using Lipton. The mug that I used for the Family sized bags, is huge, but I only used it when I was at the office. It is somewhat cumbersome. I suppose I could make room in the refrigerator, and keep a pitcher of specially brewed for great iced tea there, but most of the time, I just want to make one cup and throw it in the microwave for a couple of minutes.

Well, this morning, I was able to make myself a freshly brewed steaming hot cup of specially brewed for great iced tea, Luzianne tea! I bought three boxes of that stuff, just in case the retailers get the idea that they don't want to continue to carry that product, for another four or five years. It's kinda like toilet paper. You gotta stock up on it, cause you never know when it will be available again! :p

There is so much focus on the women and kids in poly families but the fact is that it's the man who is at the center of all of it and everyone else depends on his leadership both as the spiritual head of the house and the husband and father to everyone. I know most people think it's so awesome for the men but from my experience it's a lot of hard work. Steve is away from home most of the time out making money, he comes home and there's always more work to do around here, there's things that he has to sort out, and then he's got everyone wanting his time.

@MeganC this is gold! May all wives strive to be so insightful.

So, today I learned about a push button for your kitchen disposal. I guess switches are out of style. It actually works with pressured air that triggers your sink disposal. So cool!

Air switches are pretty cool! I found one on an appliance that was about 20 years old, so they have been around longer than many realize.

“When once a sort of official, legal, or nominal Unselfishness has been established as a rule – a rule for the keeping of which their emotional resources have died away and their spiritual resources have not yet grown – the most delightful results follow. In discussing any joint action, it becomes obligatory that A should argue in favor of B’s supposed wishes and against his own, while B does the opposite. It is often impossible to find out either party’s real wishes; with luck, they end by doing something that neither wants, while each feels a glow of self-righteousness and harbors a secret claim to preferential treatment for the unselfishness shown and a secret grudge against the other for the ease with which the sacrifice has been accepted. Later on you can venture on what may be called the Generous Conflict Illusion. This game is best played with more than two players, in a family with grown-up children for example. Something quite trivial, like having tea in the garden, is proposed. One member takes care to make it quite clear (though not in so many words) that he would rather not but is, of course, prepared to do so out of ‘Unselfishness’. The others instantly withdraw their proposal, ostensibly through their ‘Unselfishness’, but really because they don’t want to be used as a sort of lay figure on which the first speaker practices petty altruisms. But he is not going to be done out of his debauch of Unselfishness either. He insists on doing ‘what the others want’. They insist on doing what he wants. Passions are roused. Soon someone is say, ‘Very well then, I won’t have any tea at all!’, and a real quarrel ensues with bitter resentment on both sides.”

And now for the latest entry in either the Liberals-Eat-Their-Own-Tails or I-Don't-Give-A-Hoot category: https://www.zerohedge.com/medical/b...-against-biological-females-chill-locker-room

I'm probably in the minority here in that I'm entirely supportive of any adult who wants to take full responsibility for all of the costs (including long-term ramifications) being permitted to monkey around with hir biological God-given gender, but there are two significant ridiculousnesses at play here:
  1. The insanity of any parent who caves into the woke pressure and allows their not-fully-formed child to engage in hormone therapy or genital destruction (if one's child imagines hirself to be a unicorn, is one going to permanently install a horn on hir forehead?); and
  2. Title IX itself that requires every school entity to provide an equal number of sports slots for females as it does for males (when are we going to stop pretending either that females desire in equal numbers to males to participate in sports or that people are honestly interested in watching them do so?)
So the same people who brought us forced sports equity between the genders now find themselves roiled in rancor as their desire to deny the existence of fixed gender threatens the 'fairness' of forced sports equity.

Isn't it funny that the same people who lose their minds because ranchers might use hormones with their herds think it's a great idea to inject even more powerful hormones into young kids to make them change their genders?

Of course he is, with tongue in cheek. Calling someone a bigot (or a racist, or any other such variant) is the most commonly-used and unfortunately-effect tactic used by leftists to successfully shut up anyone with whom they are or would be losing an argument if they actually attempted to engage in true debate rather than relying on ad hominem attacks.

Just wanted to be reassured that you were not referring to Megan.

I love war strategy, but bloodshed and killing and demolition of infrastructure, not so much.
