My YouTube Channel "DreamPolly"

Sorry if I sound like an idiot, but I'm trouble understanding Tesfalcon is trying to tell me.
Like, does he want me to make money? Does he want me to make stories that are literally 3 seconds long? Does he think my videos are ugly?

I don't want to make money from my videos. Seeing my parents laugh and enjoy my work is a reward to me.

To be honest, I don't like being told how to make my videos and I don't know how frames work. I have to do things in my own way, but if my dad wants me to do something different, I'll do it. And don't worry, I am still trying to learn how to make my videos faster. You guys are still allowed to give me advice, I just might be very picky about it.

I don't actually watch anime or read manga, but I done research on it.

(If Dad wants me to delete this post, I will.)
@Tesfalcon is assuming that, if you are on Youtube, you want to know how to make your channel as popular and profitable as possible. He is then giving you advice for how you would go about that.

I think it is obvious to everybody else that this is not what you are actually trying to do, you're just having fun. His advice is therefore mostly irrelevant, and I would suggest simply ignoring it. He is giving you the advice he would want to receive if he was you, without taking account of the fact that you are actually different to him and have completely different goals.

But if you do ever want to become a highly successful YouTube star - read his advice again. It is good advice, for someone wanting to do that. It's just not relevant to you today.

If his posts are overly stressful to you, click his name beside one of his posts, and in the popup panel that comes up click "Ignore". All his posts will then disappear (from your perspective). If you decide you want to read his posts again, just go to your preferences for "People you ignore" and remove his name from the list, then you'll be able to read his posts again.

I applaud you, @Emily, for making your videos for the pure enjoyment and sharing you can experience doing so. Seeking popularity can be a treacherous road, anyway!

Hi Emily. Sometimes people might want to give a more general answer or give advice to a question or comment someone has made so that it can help a much wider audience. I think some of us men try to do that at times but it's not that we are wanting to make anyone feel like an idiot. We are just trying to be as helpful as we can to as many as we can. I'm grateful for the different ideas and information that gets posted about all sorts of things but don't be concerned if you can't understand what someone else is saying. We're all learning different things as we go. Blessings and keep up going with your efforts to make good pro-polygamy stories. Shalom.

Shalom @frederick, thank you. I know he wasn't trying to make feel like an idiot, I just have trouble understanding people sometimes because of my autism.

Hi Emily, a frame is just a single picture. When I was your age I was making cartoons with my school text books. It was usually something simple like a stick figure person jumping off a diving board. The first frame would be the guy standing on the diving board and each page or frame after that he and the diving board would be moved a little more. When I had drawn many frames I could grab all the pages which had all the pictures or frames and then let them rapidly slip through my fingers and watch the stick figure guy jump off the diving board and make a big splash. Hope this helps. I find it fun to find out how things work. Other people don't. You don't have to know how a piano works too play it and knowing how it works never helped me to be able to play it.

On another note have you ever heard Temple Grandin's story. Like you she had autism and her different way of thinking helped her to do some amazing things. But along the way there were people who just could not understand. I got to meet her in person and she and her story are very inspiring.

Hi Emily, a frame is just a single picture.
To clarify further @Emily, when watching a normal video there are about 30 frames per second. In other words you see 30 still pictures, each slightly different, one after the other, every second. Because each picture is slightly different it looks like the thing on the screen is moving. But it's just an illusion. You're actually just seeing lots and lots of still pictures.

Here is a great illustration of what @Gary Slaughenhaupt is talking about:
When drawing an animation by hand, you have to draw all the individual pictures, and it takes a long time (old Bugs Bunny cartoons etc were made by hand like this). In reality, the lead animator would draw a small number of key pictures (Bugs holding a carrot, Bugs with the carrot in his mouth), and a team of staff would take those and draw all the in-between pictures (his hand moving up towards his mouth) - a long, repetitive process called "tweening".

When using a computer, you just draw pictures at key points, or you might draw these by dragging a picture into place (you might have a puppet with moving arms and legs that you're positioning in these key positions). The computer program then makes all the in-between pictures. The computer is doing all the tiresome work of tweening that in the past would have taken hours to draw by hand.

I have to do things in my own way, but if my dad wants me to do something different, I'll do it.
I want you to take in all the good advice, and become a YouTube millionaire, and buy me my dream house. Thanks. :D

I have 17k subscribers and get over 10,000 views a month and I don’t make $50 from YouTube every month. The money is in Patreon.

Many, who want to make money, use other means like Patreon, merch, etc. YouTube is ... unreliable and ... excessively secretive so there's no way to know if you're even paid according to their own convoluted terms. Most see it as "free" advertising.

Whether textually or orally, some have described my style as "drinking from a firehose". Glean what you can and keep moving forward.

Like, does he want me to make money?
YouTube is (was?) a great place where "do what you love and the money will follow" comes true. Step 1) People make videos on their preferred topic (relationships, games, art, makeup, etc.).
Step 2) Other people watch those videos because they like that same topic.
Step 3) YouTube puts ads on your video to show the viewers and shares the ad revenue w you.

It's not about what I want. If you get enough viewers, you'll make money. If you didn't want subscribers / viewers, why did you tell us about it?

Does he want me to make stories that are literally 3 seconds long?
Not quite.
We learn to read w ABC.
We combine letters to make words.
We combine words to make sentences.
We combine sentences to make paragraphs.
We combine paragraphs to make "scenes".
We combine scenes to tell a story.
3 seconds is the core "word" of your video sentence.
3 words (9-10 seconds) is a video sentence.
3 sentences (~30 seconds) is a video paragraph.
How many paragraphs do u need for your scene?

Does he think my videos are ugly?
No. Childish & overly cute? Maybe.
But that's perfect for anime.

I don't know how frames work.
You've been given some good explanation here already.

I am still trying to learn how to make my videos faster. You guys are still allowed to give me advice, I just might be very picky about it.

Never stop learning.

Because I like sharing my stuff with people. I also noticed that users on BF wish there was a polygyny show, so I made one. :)

And that's how you grow any business to success whether it's tomatoes, spaceships, or a YouTube channel.

1) "Find a need. Fill a need."
2) Share w others (aka "marketing").
3) Get feedback to identify needs (improvements).
4) Fill those needs.
Repeat 3 & 4 until done.

At one point before adpocalypse I only had a 1,000 subscribers and would make $100 a month. It was a pretty drastic switch that got flipped. They realized we’d keep making videos one way or the other though so why would they keep paying if they didn’t have to?

@Emily Despite how you may feel, and the feedback that confuses you, One thing is CLEAR, you are making an impact, and being used by GOD to make an impact. Your earthly father is proud of you for good reason. Despite how you perceive your maturity level, your father thought you could handle this adult forum. I agree with him you are wise beyond your years.

Does she happen to have a YouTube Channel as well?

No, but my 17 yr old does. He's been playing w this as well.

Apparently, Gacha Life has an in-built skit maker, but Gacha Club only has the posing scenes. But to make videos, he had to take screenshots for individual frames and add them into a separate video editor.

When he finishes his clip, I'll post the link.
