As a online marketing student and web developer, I have 3 piece of advice for YouTube or whatever.
1) Content is King
Set a regular posting schedule a follow it TO THE LETTER. Start w realistic goals like 1 vid weekly. Whatever you have to do, post it on schedule weekly. Don't worry about quality; that will come w time. Don't worry about cinematography; you'll learn it. Don't worry about perfect anything; it's not & never will be. Esp in the beginning, the real growth is YOU becoming a "YouTuber".
2) Honesty sells. Don't worry about being funny or cute or clever; if that's not you, you'll get tired of the act. Don't create a character; be authentic. Don't exaggerate; be real.
3) Script! Ad libbing w a camera is HARD.
Plan your vid.
Prepare your script.
Present your info.
The difference between successful channels and flops is largely one of process. Those w process have taken the work out of how and merely need to plug in the what. Those w/o process are constantly making the same decisions over and over again and getting tired of deciding. Thus those w process can crank out more content faster w less work than those without. This translates to more personal time, less frustrations, and higher likelihood of not quitting.
"The harder I work, the luckier I get." - ???
Good luck.
