Steve Lawson

I didn't say all SA victims, I said women who go for people 2-3x their age, in my experience, are SA victims (or drug addicts).
Well, my point is that not all SA victims are messed up in the head.

From an online article:

Lawson explained why he has remained “silent” and “largely invisible” since the news of his infidelity became public, saying, “I have needed the time to search my own soul to determine that my repentance is real.”

What if he were to arrive at his repentance being insincere? What then? Would it cause him or others to reconsider their assumptions about the topic of biblical marriage and “infidelity”?

Looks like he is doing "I was wrong" routine.

What if he were to arrive at his repentance being insincere?
Or found out that the repentance that he felt required to do was unnecessary?

Well if one of us (not I of course) has been able to get in contact with him, and for whatever reason, is not divulging, you may be right!

For those of you who have seen the news about Steve Lawson, you will probably have seen the YouTube videos condemning him for adultery. I haven't been able to find anything concrete about the marital state of the woman. Does anyone here have information? From references to her father threatening to expose the relationship, I'm guessing she was unlikely to have been married.

A thought that has come to my mind regarding this very public event is that it opens a door for those who know the truth about biblical marriage to make instructive comment. It is a sin to make false accusations against another. To be accusing Mr Lawson and this woman of being in adultery (if she is indeed single) is wrong, plain and simple. Therefore, those making any false accusations need to be called out and challenged.

Maybe there's an opportunity here for you @PeteR to make a video(?)
One must remember, although our Constitition gives us 1st Ammendment Rights of Freedom of Religion, and our country allows Adand and Steve to marry, and Eve and Sally can marry, those of us are in the same situation the Mormkns are in, our Freedom of Religion has been denied by so called Christians and they are very Judgemental and try to Judge others as God would, very wrong of them! Our issue should be to Lobby Congressional and Senate members to allow the 1st Ammof Freedom of Religion, not for some, but for all Americans, as it was the first of the Ammendments along with Freedom of Speech. Hiw hypocritical and evil to allow sand sex marriages, but deny plural marriages. I know there are a few Congressional and Senate members whi want to legalize plural marriage at the Federal level as it should be! What a joke to deny our Freedom of Religion! The Supreme Court should be put to the test on Freedom of Religion, it's meant to be just that, FREEDOM OF RELIGION,not yours is okay mine us not allowed. Some will argue what about the, "Church of Satan", well our nation was founded in principals of God, not Satan, just as our country shouldn't allow groups that want to overthrow America and are hateful, Anti-semetic, that's all wrong, even Muslims and other mideastern religions do not teach hateful rhetoric, that from the extremists who do not follow their religions as written. If you know your history in America the first political party and it us the political party of slavery as well, they are the ines who wouldn't allow Freedom of Religion many years ago, yet they wanted slavery to never end and they caused a great Civil War in our country and that same political party today is about lies, division and open borders, human trafficking, allow those open borders to flood our country with drugs that are killing many Americans. It's nit just about Freedom of Religion, that pol9party does not believe in our Constitition and hates that great document because it caused the demise of slavery in our country, so they work hard to stifle Constititional Rights, that's why we must Lobby for Our 1st Ammendment Right of Freedom of Religion! Don't we have enough people to do this or get others who also believe as we do in Freedom of Religion? What about, and I don't expressly like this group overall, but get the ACLU to fight for our Freedom of Religion? Use the ACLU like so many others to get our Constititional Rights to be applied on a Federal level? I thonk it's time to Lobby and get the help we need to allow our Constititional Rights to be valid, not censored!

The sentiment is admirable, @GLB, but the Constitutional understanding needs correction:

One must remember, although our Constitition gives us 1st Ammendment Rights of Freedom of Religion...
Actually, and importantly, NO, emphatically. The Founders all knew it, and said so vocally. The Bill of Rights GIVES us nothing. Those Rights come from God; the purpose of the enumeration of those "thou shalt NOT" prohibitions in the Bill of Rights is to PROTECT them from Big Brother.

They are infringed, because people who "don't know their Rights, don't have any."

... and our country allows Adand and Steve to marry,

Read Obergefell carefully. It allows them to get a LICENSE, period.

No man of YHVH in Scripture EVER, not once, asked for any such permission from any imposter god or of his agent.

The Constitution simpy says they don't have a leg to stand on to FORCE you to ask.

So this becomes a non-issue, but makes the point:

Our issue should be to Lobby Congressional and Senate members to allow the 1st Ammof Freedom of Religion, not for some, but for all Americans

Article I of the Bill of Rights says, "Congress shall make NO LAW..."
to prohibit the "free exercise" of religion, along with those other prohibitions that they likewise ignore. Likewise, Reynolds v US, (the Mormon case) was an early example of a Court that ignored the plain text of the Constitution.

The answer is to understand that they simply have NOTHING to say about our faith, and Who we serve. They "assume the power," because we fail to "rebut the presumption."

Oh, and PS>

What about, and I don't expressly like this group overall, but get the ACLU to fight for our Freedom of Religion?
We can lobby Satan to fight for it, too, while we're at it...

Being a false witness and accusing a person of a sin with a penalty such as adultery has very serious consequences. If the accusations are indeed false, the people making them are in more serious trouble than Mr Lawson!
Amen!
It makes sense for a man desiring to have children to look for a fertile young woman. It also makes sense for a family minded young woman to seek a mature and financially stable man.
Very true. My hubby's other love is over 20 years younger.
he had probably already outlived several wives, even if a monogamist.
There is a neat older gentleman in our community. His wife passed away, but he is still living and has no trouble finding interested ladies. His grandson is probably in his 40's. Most just smile....and wish him well, and hope to still be "LIVING" in their 70's too!
