I am so happy for Kyle and his family that they won against the idiots who think people should let criminals loot and burn everything!
It occurred to me while watching a clip of the race huckster Al Sharpton talking about how this is "a dark day for activists," that Rev. Sharpton actually provided a window into his soul and into the soul of the type of people he represents. The whole trial seemed like a perverse farcical comedy. Many people commented on how weird it was that Mr. Rittenhouse was being labeled a white supremacist when the people he was on trial for killing were also white, all but one member of the jury was white, all the defense attorneys and prosecuting attorneys were white, the judge was a white Democrat, and the trial was being held in a state in which the majority population is white, and the state itself voted for Biden in the 2020 election.
I've been assuming that this became a left vs. right political trial with accusations of white supremacism because the riots at which Kyle Rittenhouse showed up with a rifle to help protect businesses were riots being conducted on behalf of the perversely-named Black Lives Matter along with Antifa in protest of a black man shot by a policeman, in combination with the fact that the left and their media simply use any excuse to claim everything they don't like is about racism or some other form of unwoke prejudice. However, while listening to Sharpton I came to another conclusion.
I believe what has really gotten their goats is that (a) a white man dared to show up at a riot to stand up against what was going on, and, (b) especially now that Kyle Rittenhouse has been acquitted, Sharpton and the hell-bent-on-destroying-America Left is nervous that we might be seeing the beginning of Americans not only rising up against but getting away with rising up against an insidious and truly-racist destructive privilege that the American Marxists have been piggybacking on now for 6 decades: the privilege that blacks have enjoyed of being excused for initiating rioting, looting, assault and destruction any time they perceive that someone of their race hasn't gotten a fair shake; in fact, it's also generally excused even when such behavior is exhibited in the wake of them just being angry that they didn't get away with something else they thought they were going to get away with.
As a culture, we have been tolerating this for far, far too long. It's part of that "soft bigotry of low expectations" thing: as if we're saying through our inaction that we simply can't expect anything better of the average black citizen beyond excusing them for having such poor impulse control that we just have to give them room to "express their anger," even when that anger is extended to the point of burning down cities, destroying multiple small businesses, taking over police stations, or even assaulting other people simply for not being "people of color." Around this blatantly-racist canard that blacks are incapable of delaying gratification or controlling their impulses has grown up an auxiliary Industry know as Race Hustling, and it has grown to the point that every major network hires anywhere from one to a dozen or so individuals whose only purpose seems to be to pound the drum of blaming everything on white privilege and the sin of slavery, as if life just wouldn't be complete every day if we weren't blasted with the idea that every white person is rotten to the core. Race Hustling has other more destructive offshoots, though, that include not only such obviously-intended-to-bring-down-our-country groups like BLM but the installation at every major college and university of one or more Diversity Affairs administrators, whose only purposes (and I say this as someone with almost a decade's experience working in university student affairs) are to agitate students of color, exempt those same students from general academic expectations and destroy the self-image of white students. Typically, as well, those administrators are paid far higher salaries than the average university employee and have a workload that is far lower.
Kyle Rittenhouse being found not guilty, which affirms the right of American citizens to bear arms and protect themselves and their property with those arms under the aegis of self-defense, is making Sharpton and his ilk rather nervous, which is part of why the prosecution did its damnedest to go straight at challenging the right of self-defense, because I can promise you that, while the average American may be mildly relieved that the trial is over and that young man didn't end up in prison for the rest of his life, those race hustlers are contemplating the possibility that, the next time they initiate a wave of rioting across America, they aren't going to be able to count on waves of opportunistic blacks and various other thugs ravaging our cities unimpeded as the police almost stand idly by under orders from public officials eager to demonstrate that they're "down for the struggle." Instead, they'll be wondering if it's going to be worth it this time if, instead of a 17-year-old and a lone wolf here and there in certain cities willing to stand up against them, what they're going to start encountering is the riot-backlash equivalent of the thousands of angry parents who have been showing up at local school board meetings. If there are 10 Kyle Rittenhouses on every block showing up with guns and ammo, we could begin to see a serious de-escalation of the Left's most visible terror tactic since the Klan stopped showing its hooded face.
