So many pastors stray from the word under the influence of chivalry.
No kidding! Just yesterday, my pastor preached on Gal 5:16-18. He left out the sins that Paul actually listed, and instead, attacked the desire to have someone of the opposite gender.

Of course, the letters you were carrying could be rare and valued communications to inmates from their families back at home. Or official letters discussing the logistics of food delivery or sewage system repairs.
I couldn't use that to justify delivering the letters that I knew contained orders to carry out atrocities. Of course, knowledge of those contents, would in fact be the key here, and that is not entirely hypothetical.

My comment was more about those invisible "many innocent Israeli civilians." If you are really against firing missiles into homes, then stop already. Some homes had five families living in them because of previously destroyed homes. I'm sure they were there because they decided to ignore the warning and die together in the night.
They are doing a great job there of "minimizing casualties" Waco style....and telling after of how they tried to save the children.
It is the nature of governments to lie, and the nature of a government's supporters to justify almost anything.
War is tough and often presents nothing but hard choices. It can be hard for those who have always been protected to see how that particular sausage is made sometimes.

A couple of days ago I was out and about in my truck. First stop, loaded up something, realised I had forgotten my cellphone. Drove back home to get it, and realised I had left my strop box open and had no ratchets left by the time I got home. Retraced my route and found them all along the road. Got to my final destination, and realised I'd lost part of my load. Started the truck to go back down the road to find it, and didn't get out of the paddock before I ran out of diesel (fuel gauge has been broken for years). Found my spare diesel can was empty. Siphoned a few litres of diesel out of a digger to put in the truck. Had to bleed the injector fuel lines to get it running again.

I cannot recall ever having so many things go wrong in a string like that! Despite this, once I finally got things sorted, I had an extremely productive day and achieved everything I had originally intended. God provides us with what we need even when things are a mess.

If hard work is the cost of success, it seems persistence must be the 'tax" some days! Thanks for sharing @FollowingHim!

Finished bone broth yesterday and churned 14 lbs of butter after running the cream separator. This will be our first Thanksgiving with homemade butter for all those pie crusts. :)

I LOVE the lyrics to America the beautiful....especially this verse that prays for the fulfillment of His people turning to Him.

America, America, God mend thine every flaw. Till all success be nobleness and liberty in law.

I just realised today that in that entire trip, there were only two places I could have run out of diesel and actually had more available - one petrol station I drove past, and my destination. I could have run out of fuel absolutely anywhere, and the day would have been completely messed up had I ran out of fuel on the side of the road somewhere, but God had me run out of fuel right beside the digger I could siphon fuel out of. Sometimes even what seems to be a disastrous mess at the time turns out to have been perfectly planned.

Yup. Totally agree. Since God cannot do anything inconsistent with His nature, and He is holy and good, He must be working it all together for you for good. When these sorts of things happen I'm mindful of Rom. 5:3; And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance.

I blew a steer tire last week. Two lane road with oncoming traffic and a ravine with an inadequate guardrail to my right. These can be life endangering situations, but I believe that angels kept me going straight. An oncoming truck driver expressed some amazement at how easy it went.

Reminds me of the time we were travelling to visit relatives and had a blowout on I-635, and the car spun out of control across 5 lanes of traffic. Five of us were crammed into the back seat of that station wagon. The rear passenger door flew open, and my younger brother held on for dear life, as my father desperately tried to get the car back under control. A tractor trailer was bearing down on us. My younger sister cried out, "GOD SAVE US!" I seem to recall a gust of wind right about that moment. When our station wagon reached the other side, my father, I guess fearing we would end up in a ditch, turned the steering wheel hard, and the next thing we knew, is that we were headed back onto the main lanes, with a blown tire. He quickly threw the car into reverse and we backed off into the grassy median. We all got out of the vehicle, the youngest was still in a car seat, riding in the front with mom and dad. The eight of us got out without a scratch on us. The driver of the 18-wheeler pulled over and came to check on us, and he said he had no idea how he avoided hitting us. Needless to say, we all stood around and prayed, thanking God that we were still alive.

The truck I drive used to be my grandfather's. He blew a front tyre on it a decade or so ago, travelling around some difficult mountain roads. Rolled the truck onto its side, and ended up in hospital for a while getting skin grafts to his arm. Dodgy batch of tyres.

I was driving the same truck last year, and one tyre (probably still from the same dodgy batch), now on the same front wheel, developed a large bulge while I was travelling long distance. Fortunately I noticed in time and was able to change the tyre before it blew. But I nearly had the exact same accident in the exact same vehicle!

I have now changed every single tyre on the vehicle with brand new ones...

Yes, blowing a steer tire is generally no small matter.
I have driven well over 1.5 million miles and this is the only one I have ever blown. I watch them carefully and change them before they are a potential problem.
