Poly Practised Elsewhere

May God bless him for standing against an activity that clearly violates His law (homosexuality) while accepting something that does not (polygyny)! The EU and western countries are so perverted and twisted in comparison when it comes to these issues.

Yes! May God bless him. I have lived in Africa and observed the awful choice presented to governments - "Change your law to accept homosexuality or lose your aid money". It stirs a kind of anger in me when I know there are people who will not eat if the government refuses to accept what they know is wrong. May God bless such people as that president as I am sure he is well aware of the pain his choice will cause. Shame on the affluent governments and aid organizations of this world who force people to choose between having food to eat based on accepting wickedness and if not accepting it, they must starve. I hate that!

I've had the same debate about the so-called church promoting what God doesn't want while rejecting what God requires. The elder who led the effort to have me given the left boot encouraged my wife to divorce me and marry another man. The hypocrisy is beyond belief at times.

Thank God you and wife both were given sufficient grace to weather a storm like that! I expect others yet have such storms ahead. :( May God give further grace in time of need to those who will suffer as you have.

IMO, the first part of this thesis is very compelling, but the conclusion/proposal as a means to an end that it promotes is diabolical. It’s the proverbial bait and switch.

Yes, they start out on the right road, but they don't end up where they should. That website is from the Mennonite Brethren. Years ago for a time I fellowshipped with them. That they even discuss polygyny is a move from where they once were. However, if the article hadn't ended with the "switch" you noted, I doubt it would have ever made it out to the internet. I hope they keep thinking and searching for answers - it's a process a lot of us have at some point gone through and we know by experience it can end with us knowing more than when we started. :)
