The thing about The Moon is a Harsh Mistress is that there was a core of dedicated people working hard behind the scenes. The revolutionary change was enacted by the masses, however it was the core that pushed the masses over the threshhold each time a tipping point was reached. I see the parallel with biblical marriage - most people dont care for polygamy, however if enough concern could be raised about minority rights and the freedom of religion and association, the issue might just garner enough support to obtain decriminalisation. And then move into the background again. The implication being, can we identify these tipping point moments, and are we networked enough to rally support at the right time?
Oh yeah, and the line marriage thing, not biblical but certainly effective at preserving intergenerational wealth.
