Lyrics to Joseph's Coat, by Quicksilver Messenger Service
from Shady Grove, 1969

Joseph's many colored coat
Left him lying in the moat
He lived a life as prince and slave
And in the end forgave
You want to feel like a man
Then act like a man
You want to be like a man
You gotta act like a man

You live your life by bein' fair
You'll find that your strength lies there
For kings ands armies will fight in vain
Against a natural man
You want to feel like a man
Then act like a man
You want to be like a man
You gotta act like a man

The road of life is dark and steep
Sometimes it's like a nightmare creepin'
If you don't give for what you take
You may never awake
[break] Ahhhh…

The road of life is dark and steep
Sometimes it's like a nightmare creepin'
If you don't give for what you take
You may never awake
You may never awake
You may never awake

Rembrandt Laughing, self-portrait

Rembrandt never left the Netherlands in his life, but the recent Rembrandt in Amsterdam exhibition at the National Gallery of Canada still managed to obsess, in the style of our times, over slavery, colonialism, and racism. The Ottawa museum announced, with a straight face [remainder at: https://www.takimag.com/article/master-baiting/]

Poll: Majority of Millennials, Gen Zers Want Limits on Abortion

By Kristan Hawkins
January 21, 2022

By the time the midterm elections take place, targeted campaign ads and outreach will have littered the virtual American landscape, as politicians attempt to persuade voters that they have something to offer. In today’s partisan setting, abortion will be one of the issues raised. While the pro-life position once encompassed people of all political persuasions, the two parties today generally stand as polar opposites, making a new poll on the views of almost one-third of the electorate important news for the army of campaign consultants gearing up to make their pitch.

Far from being pro-abortion/straight-ticket voters without nuance, Millennials and Gen Zers share concerns about the extremes of abortion. They also desire to have a voice and a vote on life, and thoroughly reject the reckless and deadly policy pursued by the Biden administration and its corporate abortion allies on chemical abortion pills [remainder at: https://www.realclearpolitics.com/a..._gen_zers_want_limits_on_abortion_147069.html]

Those only go out like a week.
I'm disappointed to hear that you have an iPhone. With the hundreds of dollars one can save buying an Android, you could replace all that rice that the bugs got out of your storage shed. :D

By the way, I keep stacking the food storage, and buying more guns. I can afford it since I run a two year old, $200 Android instead of an iPhone.

Speaking of guns, I recently picked up a Ruger Max 9 (I like pocket carry and the Max 9 outclasses my LCP and 642 J-frame), and also a Taurus G3C.

I'm really rather impressed with the G3C. It is too big for pocket carry, but seems like a heck of a great little all around pistol for $259.

I have no need for the Taurus (or honestly the Ruger either). I guess I'm just making sure I have plenty of defensive pistols for the whole family if God happens to bless me with a couple more wives. :p

You have a $200 phone!?!?! How do you afford anything? I only have a $120 refurbished IPhone 8.

Seriously though, we don’t get cell service at the house so Apple is the only way I can call home.

I’m gratified to hear you’re stacking food. Have you gotten to a year’s worth for your household yet?

I am a Ruger fanboy so anything they make I want but that Max-9 seems like a great little carry gun. I was thinking of picking up a Security 9 at some point but may opt for the Max instead. All of this of course is after I see what their Marlin lever actions look like feature wise. Daddy wants him a .357 carbine.

Now I'm ashamed that I am the fancy boy with the $200 Android.

I think we've got about 18 months worth of food storage, but it is just the wife and myself since we are childless. Also, that 18 months is based on 2000kcal a day, which is probably enough for the wife, but low for me.

I'd also really love to get a .357 lever action to go with my Security Six. On the other hand, I don't need one, and honestly have more than a reasonable number of guns anyway. Still the .357 lever gun, and an AR10 are on my wish list.

I really like the combo tritium fiberoptic front sight on the Max 9. It is a good shooting little carry gun. Also, the Max 9 is more affordable than the Sig P365.

Speaking of the Security Nine. I have a Security Nine Compact which is really good for CCW with the short 10 round mag, but also does double duty with the bigger 15 round mag (with grip extension). It is almost like having both a Glock 26 and a Glock 19.

Like you, I'm kinda a Ruger fan.
