i wonder what the percentages are,
who is 'typical' vs
who would prefer things change
What if it's the case that the typical person would prefer that things would change?

I'm near the end of watching an old black-and-white Yiddish film entitled Le Dibbouk, about a rabbi who breaks a vow to marry his child to his rabbi friend's child when their wives are pregnant. The other man died before his child was born, and his son dies in the process of trying to overturn the first man's daughter's impending marriage to a man who doesn't even want to marry her.

A rabbinical counsel is convened in which the spirit of the dead friend is brought to the counsel, and reactions to the light and wind behind a screen are interpreted by the counsel as being the deceased friend's reactions. People speak on both behalf's, but the head Rebbe ultimately comes forth with a declaration that the living man wasn't bound by the promised because the Torah asserts that no man can be bound by a contract made involving anything that hasn't yet been created. Of course, my immediate reaction was that both the boy and the girl had actually already been created, even if they hadn't yet emerged from the womb, so I was thinking this was going to be a statement about abortion, but the movie is 84 years old, so that isn't where it goes. Instead, it appears to be a statement about elevating the traditions of man over the Word of Yah.

After the Rebbe announces his final decision, he asks the deceased man if he accepts, then declares that the reaction that occurs connotes acceptance (also a requirement for legiitimacy), but the living man who would benefit from the decision doesn't even look like he agrees, and every other rabbi present declares that it's obvious that Nisn does not agree.

The head Rebbe then says this: "Even if, in the worlds above, it had been decided otherwise, I would reverse their decision!"

Tradition!!!

Has anyone here been significantly affected by the tornadoes over the weekend?

What are y'all's thoughts on the Apocrypha? Coming from a protestant background,. I've never considered these books as being authoritative.

I have one Bible with those books, and I've read some in them. I find them somewhat interesting, and even a little beneficial, but don't consider them to be Bible, like the Old Testament and New Testament.

Lately, I've been listening to Follown Yashua on YouTube, and he is frequently quoting Sirach like it is the Bible.

Thanks for your thoughts

I've got my giant mountain of winter compost going now. Somehow the compost pile is so huge when I make it, but so much smaller when I go to use it. I never have as much as I'd like.

Some sort of animal killed one of my hens the other night around 11pm. I'm pretty sure it was just a stupid neighborhood cat (we live in town, and have a fenced yard). I saw a cat sized animal go over the fence when I went outside in response to the commotion. It possibly could have been a raccoon, possum, or skunk, but I think it was just a cat.

The hens were getting in the habit of roosting on top of their portable pen/chicken tractor, since I give them free reign in the vegetable garden over winter. Now, I am back to locking them in at night, and letting them out in the morning.

It is a bummer, because I can usually get away with very lax chicken security. I'd like to keep the other five alive.o_O

My wife and I were both asleep when the incident started. The hen freak out woke up my wife, who in turn woke me up. As the patriarch of the house, I got to investigate, and deal with the dead hen, while my wife and "lap security dog" peeked out the window. My wife is glad to have someone to investigate the bumps in the night.:D

Lol, this is so me. One time I could hear music playing outside at night (we live rural, no other houses, it wasn't neighbours). It was freaking me out so I woke Samuel up and made him go see what it was. The kids had left a toy guitar (one of these stupid Disney ones with buttons you push to make sounds, we were given it) outside, it had gotten wet, and was now playing itself lol.
So glad to have hubby to rescue me from such things.

It was huge, thank Yah it passed about 140 miles from the house.

I totally don’t accept the mortality figures.
When house after house is cleaned clear off of its slab, what happened to the inhabitants? With debris flying at 200+ mph? Very few have underground shelters.
So I believe that we are being lied to yet again.
Yeah, what’s new?

Combined with the large number of active volcanos, will we be seeing an uptick in damaging earthquakes? Is Yah letting us know that we are in the neighborhood of the end times?

Yeah, what’s new?

One of the governors was on TV on Saturday noting that their death count had been changed from 2 to 1, because it was discovered after the fact that the person had Wuhan Flu when s/he died.

Most Roman Catholic Bibles include Sirach as part of the canon. I also note it being quoted as part of His Word by Jewish sources.

If anyone did die, it was probably the COVID that killed them for being unvaccinated.
