@MemeFan for some reason your posts from Twitter/X and only your posts from Twitter/X require a logon in order to view them.

Perhaps you could post a screenshot of these things instead or in addition to your links? I ask as I have never had and will never have an account on that service. Thank you! :)
@MeganC, it's a long shot, but could you point me to a comment that includes a Twitter post you can definitely read, and one you definitely cannot, and I'll have a look at how they've been posted and see if there's any difference on the forum end. It may be that @MemeFan is just doing it differently to everyone else.

I do nothing except pure copy/paste just like any link.

Post a link yourself and I'll see if I can click into it.

Yep, your link prompted me to logon too. Thank you!

@MeganC, I think what is happening is that you can follow links to anywhere, but you can't view embedded content.
What @nathan posted elsewhere, which you can see, is just a link.
Code:
[URL='https://twitter.com/Ancient_Masc/status/1725951224812380600'](6) Ancient Masculinity 👑 on X: "This should be an interesting poll. According to the Bible, is it wrong for a man to have more than one wife? Please repost and ensure you back your answers with scriptures!" / X (twitter.com)[/URL]
So is Keith's post above, which I presume you can see.
Code:
 [URL unfurl="true"]https://x.com/NuclearHeart169/status/1631524703155150849?s=20[/URL]
While with my above post, and whenever @MemeFan posts a link, the forum software automatically attempts to embed the post so that you can view it on the forum itself without having to follow a link to see it. It converts the link to a media embed, which does not work for you:
Code:
[MEDIA=twitter]1727145722930253911[/MEDIA]

It appears that if I post a link from "twitter.com", the forum recognises it as a "twitter" post and embeds it. However, if I post a link from "x.com", the forum software does not recognise that as being twitter (yet anyway) so just makes it a link.

For instance, below I will post the exact same content that Keith did above, first using a twitter.com url as follows. I expect everyone else will see it embedded on the page, but you won't be able to view it:
Code:
https://twitter.com/NuclearHeart169/status/1631524703155150849?s=20

And now doing exactly the same thing, but using the x.com url for the exact same content. I expect everyone will just see a link, and everyone including yourself will be able to follow the link and view the content.
Code:
https://x.com/NuclearHeart169/status/1631524703155150849?s=20

So the reason you can see Keith's content is simply because he's posting links to x.com instead of twitter.com. Really @MeganC, I can't fix that, it must be something your end, with the security settings on your browser, computer or internet connection, that is preventing you from viewing embedded content from twitter. It is not realistic to ask everyone to copy from x.com instead of twitter.com, because for everyone except yourself it's actually better to have the content embedded. @MemeFan, if you have something you specifically want to show to @MeganC though, now you know how to do it.

Can you view other embedded content, such as from youtube? For example, does this appear as a video on this page which you could watch right here, or just as a link to youtube?

The only thing I see as a video I could click on is the YouTube one at the end. Every other one just shows up for me as a link, which won't work well for anyone without an X account (by the way, all typing 'x.com' into an address bar does at this point is automatically change it to 'twitter.com.').

Let's shift this discussion to its own thread, where we can troubleshoot it more clearly.

My 6 year old son just told me that he read a book where a silly guy got into a Spiderman suit and pretended to be Spiderman. Guess what the guy's name was?
Peter Parker.
This just started a whole conversation about people dressing up, and also having two roles at the same time.
I had no idea he thought that Spiderman was a whole entity on his own, suit and all, like he never took it off. Makes sense from a kid perspective I guess.
