Marriage is an example of the relationship between Christ and the Church. The Church has many members, plural marriage seems to be necessary to provide a more complete understanding and example of the relationship between Christ and the Church.
It is amazing how many people who have no conviction about drunkenness or stealing or sex without marriage or their own Bible study etc. suddenly have great conviction about plural marriage.
