Prayer request Please Praise YHWH!

I saw a picture of the truck, it honestly is a total miracle. 🙏
It's been miracle upon miracle. I texted on the way to Albuquerque with a silver haired good Samaritan named Joe. Lanora asked me to thank him again for her. He shared that God had delayed him and placed him right behind our travelers. He saw the big rig brake, saw the car on the tow dolly fishtail, saw the wreck, and stopped to help. He was on the phone with 911 before his truck was stopped, then he helped Caleb who had self extracated lift the truck off of Lanora's hand. After they got her out he let her use his phone to call us. Caleb stayed with Connor encouraging him to lie still and wait for help. They had to cut him out and Caleb was very concerned as Connor couldn't feel his feet well and they wondered how damaged his feet and legs were. His feet and legs looked good. The injury was to his neck. If you are going to have a bad accident, having it by a good hospital is the way to go. I was SUPER impressed with the knowledge and atmosphere at UNM (University of New Mexico) hospital. Best hospital experience I've ever had. They let us all be in the intensive care room with him from 6 am to 10 pm, and one was allowed to stay overnight. No hassles getting in...just helpful directions. They had him into surgery asap and made the first one short.

Our children had no identification. George prayed before we left home that the officers responding would have mercy and compassion on them. Caleb said they all treated him like a buddy. They drove him to a hotel after he refused transport (he asked the ambulance crew for a physical assessment and checked out ok) and then to a second hotel when the first had no vacancies. With no ID the clerk didn't want to give him a room and the officers explained he had been in a bad accident and needed a room. The clerk asked for a 200 dollar deposit and he was able to rest in a room until we picked him up.
Both the truck and car crossed the median and into the west bound lanes .. .yet no one else was involved. I am not aware of any tickets as the accident was not their fault....but that is another miracle/answered prayer. Thanks to the good Samaritan's witness maybe?
Full coverage was recently dropped on the truck....but injury coverage should be there to help with Connor's bills.
Free comfortable lodging in Albuquerque for the family was found the first day through a friend of a friend of Connor's family. There are other details that confirm His helping hand. Every need has been met.

It has been a beautiful and blessed disaster. Everyone I shared with spoke faith and prayed including Joe, and a stranger at a truck stop who said good morning to me. I agreed it was a VERY good morning....and she spoke faith and offered to pray and share/pray with her Bible study group that night.

With so many answered prayers it is easy to trust YHWH has a purpose in all this. As we headed to Albuquerque late Sunday night without waking the younger children or telling them....we meditated on the promises in the Bible and gave thanks. He knows our needs before we ask. Looking back on the last few days a verse that describes our experience is this one...

And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

Our mighty creator is the living God! There is none like Him! He is worthy of all praise!

Hale lu YAH!

He was flown to Muskogee August 23rd. The hospital there was a big improvement in some ways, working toward getting him off the ventilator and some medication.

He is continuing to improve. He was moved to a rehabilitation center on Oct 4th that is much closer to home 10 to 15 minutes instead of 50. Our daughter is his favorite caregiver and while that's understandable, it means that she only goes home to sleep maybe every third night...and is up long hours keeping him company and caring for him. Her pregnancy is going well, but she feels the stress too. Her back....ribs....etc. from being up a lot...and sleeping in chairs or leaning over on his bed.

He still has a long road to complete recovery and at this point cannot really do anything for himself.
Prayers are still appreciated.

Is he off the ventilator then?

He is pretty much off the vent, and has been needing less oxygen. He still has a trach tube in because since he has had swelling in his neck around the spinal injury/fused vertabrae preventing him from being able to swallow right, and as he is limited in his ability to cough effectively, he still needs suction to help keep his airway clear. A few weeks ago they put a feeding tube in through his abdominal wall. The tube in his throat was contributing to the mucus and inflammation. When they did a swallow test over a month ago with thickened liquids about half went where it was suposed to, but the x-ray/imaging let them see that the swelling was preventing his airway from closing off right and about half of the liquid went down the wrong pipe.
At this point he has to be turned by other people, ideally every two hours. Therapy wise they are trying to just get him sitting upright more (with assistance because he has practically no use of his body) but he has been laying down for so long, and has lost so much weight (30 lbs) and muscle (atrophy) and has no strength .....and he has low blood pressure, so he gets light headed just being upright.
He is getting stronger coughing....and Lanora has learned how to assist him by pushing on his chest with the cough.

So.... they were talking about sending him home at the end of the month, but that might put a greater workload on Lanora and his mom, who woukd then not have nurses to help with his care.
Caleb is hopefully going to get back there in the near future to help Joe with work and help care for Connor....AND help get a place and shower at home wheelchair accessible.

Meanwhile she is counting down with about ten weeks left til their baby is due. They had originally planned to come out to Arizona for the birth, but that may not be feasible.

Like I said. It's not a short road back. He has to heal the injury, and re-learn to use his body.

Thank you so much for the update, please tell everyone that we’re praying for them.

He passed the swallow test! He is approved for eating soft foods. Woo-hoo!

They are counting down with about 9 weeks until their baby is due. They are getting through this a day at a time. He can't grip with his hands yet, but he can bicept curl 10 lb with his arms (weight tied to wrists) and can feel the pain of a hamstring stretch in his legs. It's just going to take time to heal.

That’s awesome!

Excellent! It's so nice to read these reports where he is constantly making improvements, even if they're small. At the beginning it seemed to be 1 step forward and 2 steps back.

I know. Even earlier this week Lanora was discouraged by him seeming to get worse on days/nights she wasn't there. Trying to take care of herself too isn't easy right now.

They are getting ready for him to go home.
This isn't as positive as it might first sound.

The insurance will only cover a limited amount of in-patient rehabilitation. ...and he has to get approved for Medicare to get out-patient rehabilitation .....and that is expected to be nine months. So his full around the clock care will fall on Lanora and his parents in one short week, with no trained rehabilitation either.
In home therapy is also not covered....and out of pocket the cost of all of it is beyond crazy. Thousands a day....thanks largely to the lucrative insurance racket.

Good thing our faith is not based on medical professionals or insurance.

Nine months!?!?!! Our government is such an evil Ponzi scheme.

What is strange?

C'mon it's bureaucracy. In private business working faster and being better is motivating. You will be rewarded. Also, you can be inspiring for others. In fact slackers will be throw out.

However, in bureaucracy, fast ones will be throw out. Why? Because he makes others look bad. Being mediocre is being wonderful in bureaucracy. You can't make anyone look bad.

He didn't say it was strange... he said it was evil.
I saw this video years ago that 'bout sums it up.

Not the time.
There are no "sacred cows/threads" in my world. Everything is connected.

No offense taken. Hale lu Yah means all praise to YHWH everything else can be criticized.....ESPECIALLY "authorities" (so called) because I don't personally see where He authorized man to set up heathens without biblical qualifications as leaders and make man made laws....and obey or enforce 'em.

Just sayin'...

He got approved for another week of in patient care. His mom was sick recently, and now Lanora thinks he may be dealing with something himself. He seems more congested today.

🙏

Not all accidents are survived. I heard from my mom lastnight that one of my first cousins lost two grandchildren yesterday morning. Her daughter was driving children to school and somehow hit a parked flatbed trailer on the side of the freeway. The impact ripped the side of the truck off. Their 6 year old son who is 3 years in remission from cancer survived with minor injuries. Their 9 year old son and 11 year old daughter were killed. The mother is in the hospital. They now have two children, a daughter that just started 8th grade, and their youngest.
Life is fragile. Thankfully they have faith.

I saw this after I posted.
