I agree that a woman should love, honor, and respect her husband, and that a man, given a Godly marriage, would love her for that. But, we also need to consider the picture of Christ and His Bride. Christ laid down his life and loved the Church first. Our response to that initial love is to love, honor, and follow Him with all our hearts. This is the most beautiful picture of any type of marriage, whether monogomous or poly. So, if Christ is our pattern, than looking to Him in how He is to His Bride simply makes a whole lot of sense. Of course, all men are not nessicarily capable of that, and the same goes for women. But, nonetheless, I think it should be our goal and desire to follow the patterned Son.
