Meat Answering "It's Biblical but not for today"

Yesterday I visited a website of a dutch (Messianic) congregation and found an article about marriage and there the question was raised as well why poly was abandoned. Answer from one of the more well-know teachers was also referring to the same arguments that it was very, very clear that it was not biblical to do poly ("therefore a man...", the one-flesh arguments and the requirements for elders came along)...
Hadassah?.. lol.. she's been my nemesis since I came out as pro-poly. Netherlands has been an interesting European battleground. ( https://natsab.com/biblical-marriage/ )

Thinking about disassembling an article she sent me to point out the multiple logical and Scriptural fallacies. Already sent a four page email response to one US messianic teacher that was spewing falsehood.

Double like... lol.

As the conversation was ending, his final argument was “I just don’t think that’s what it means”.

That's really all they have; they just don't want to accept polygamy. They don't care what the scripture say.

I also like to point out to them how spectacularly their ideas are failing. What they’re doing obviously isn’t working.

That's whats sad about it all. The church lost the culture war. They don't even believe in their own teachings (i.e. no sex before marriage, etc). They're just following the world's lead. No guts. No moral authority. No relevance.

I think they’re fine with monogamy

The 10 Brides. Some are foolish, some are wise but they are all brides, or at least bride wannabes. How could that be possible if polygamy wasn't allowed?

Then the whole discussion deteriorates into who wants to be bride or a bridesmaid.

The problem is that they say "My English bible clearly says 'bridesmaid' so you're wrong" or "My bible says 'virgin', you're just making up the idea that they're brides". This situation makes perfect sense only with them all as brides - but it's very easy to refuse to read it that way if you're absolutely convinced it's impossible. So it doesn't really persuade people, you don't see it until you already accept it.

I know, once we get to the place of bride vs bridesmaids, it's all illogical downhill gobbledygook anyway at that point.

Really?!?... I knew she had a personal vendetta trying to stir the pot in Europe, but contacting folks who comment on my blog? WOW!

Please email me...

At the end of the day, my mindset is that Yah has to deal with those who willfully ignore His Word.... Not my job. But, wow!

Nope, this was a guy. I didn’t read that name there.
