There should be a thread about the sin of Adam, but I couldn’t find it with my phone.
The truth is that Adam was with Eve when she was tempted. The original Hebrew shows this.
He heard the exchange and was complicit in her decision to eat the fruit. He didn’t tell her that she shouldn’t, he just let it happen and then joined her in eating it.
He failed to protect her, Yah had given him the instructions and he should have stopped her.
My opinion is that she had immediate knowledge of good and evil. He saw the change in her and didn’t want to be left out. He probably asked her to hand it to him so that he could eat it also.
1 Timothy 2:14 tells us that Eve was deceived, but not Adam. He made a conscious choice to sin.

Regarding the sin of Adam, here is what God criticized him for at the time.
"Then to Adam He said, “Because you have listened to the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree about which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat from it’;" (Genesis 3:17 NASB95)
God said don't eat it. Eve said to eat it.
Adam followed and obeyed Eve instead of following and obeying God.
The order was inverted. Man must submit to, and follow God/Christ. Man must lead woman. Instead Adam rejected God and followed Eve.
These days it has become popular in Christian circles to criticize Adam for failing to lead and protect Eve.
Sure, Adam should have interjected, protected, and stopped Eve from eating the fruit, but that apparently isn't the root of the issue.
The root is that Adam failed to follow God. Like Romans 1 tells us, he exchanged the glory of the Creator, in favor of the creature, his wife.

This might be kind of tangential, but I'm not even sure that Eve fell when she ate the fruit. It seems like they both fell when Adam ate it.

Had Adam not eaten it, maybe Eve would have remained unfallen (in spite of her eating it).

The only sin I ever hear about that causes a pastor to step down, is sexual misconduct. They can pretty much get away with anything else!
I used to attend a church where the pastor had to step down because of financial impropriety. He had apparently started secretly and anonymously contacting some of the wealthy church members with the suggestion that it would really be nice for them/or the church to buy a new van for the pastor as a way to bless him and his family (pastor had a lot of kids).
It came out that he was the one doing it, and he had to step down.
This was a very large and prosperous church. I'm sure this guy (the senior pastor with a large staff) was already well paid.
I also attended another church where there were two supposedly equal pastors on staff, and they simply couldn't work together, so the elders had one of them step down.
Mark Driscoll also had to step down for reasons other than sexual misconduct.
That said, I think your statement generally holds true. Pastors frequently get away with all sorts of sins, and it is only the sexual ones that result in them having to step down.
True! I forgot about him. His actions were a bit more public than whatever Tony Evans did.
Yeah and I think it is sad they are being so hush hush about it, especially when you consider that some of these "scandals" aren't even sinful. Steve Lawson comes to mind.

How do we know that she didn’t simply point out that she hadn’t died immediately after eating the fruit?

I read an article a while ago that said some 80% of trans are women wanting to be men. Women want to be in charge, be the leaders, yet they subconsciously know that's the role of men so they are trying to become men. Back in the old days we called it penis envy.
I watched a video showing how the trans promoters try to make a penis for a woman. It's enough to make one vomit.
I'm sure this is one big reason God commands men not to wear women's clothing and women not to wear men's clothing. It's a clear separation of the sexes.
That's a good point Steve. It doesn't exactly say that.
I was inferring if from the fact that God rebuked Adam for listening to his wife instead of doing what God said, and also the fact that Eve gave the fruit to Adam in verse 6.
The problem is that many assume this inferred statement and judge Yah’s instruction from that.
If we consider the possibility that she said something more like “The reptile is right, I didn’t die” and Adam made his decision to eat based on what she said, he wasn’t eating out of obedience to her. He was making a decision to walk by circumstances, not by obedience to Yah
Yah didn’t accuse him of obeying his wife, just listening to her. It’s a whole different flavor of his disobedience of Yah, both still wrong of course.
Not that we shouldn’t listen to our wives, but we have to weigh their words with what we already know, or sometimes seek more information. Listening tempered with wisdom.
