If governments legalized polygyny that would remove one complication for us and perhaps make it more acceptable generally. However, whether governments legalize polyandry or not won't change anything for the rest of us.

Only allowable discrimination is "corrective" one toward equality. Also another way is to refuse prosecution of law for some groups.

Allowing polygyny without polyandry is giving privilige to one group which is stricly verboten.
Here's where the difference between "legalize" and "de-criminalize" is vital.
I could care less what Big Brother "legalizes", much less licenses (like sodomy, for one example, or child-mutilation)...
but they have no business trying to declare "criminal," and prosecute, what YHVH Himself authorizes.

I have always sneered at the idea of the state rubber stamping any union.
Besides, we all know by now that the objections to plyg-life was not a moral issue initially, it was a issue of property and succession etc. That over time the cultural enforcement went from because Rome said so to God said so.
I don't give a damn for what was convenient for a long dead bureaucracy and I don't remotely believe that God said the natural order of families since wsu before recorded history is suddenly forbidden.
So, while I would like the notion de-criminalized, I would not remotely respect the state attempting to endorse my unions with their regulatory caveats.
