Until death parts us...OR...

Interesting...I know in Ancient Rome they had different kinds of marriage and I am pretty sure under Islam there is a sort of temporary marriage thing, I heard that it was mainly used for prostitution though so they do not last as long as two years.

Is is so interesting that people do not even define their terms right anymore. In this we can see that they claim that people do not have to go through the divorce if the contract simply expires and the people then move on.

Divorce is therefore defined as the court process. But even if they use this temporary contract they are still putting one or the other away and thus are breaking a union.

But of course, maybe if their real intent from the beginning is to come together and then leave it is truly prostitution.

Well, if the courts are going to look at the whole thang as a government controlled contract, why not? Furthermore, the conditions and terms as set forth provide an effective prenup agreement. This means that if it DOES dissolve, much of the very messy, biased, unfair and illogical family law junk can be circumvented in favor of the far more clearcut contract law route.

If one insists upon involving the government in the relationship, this doesn't look any worse than lots of other options already in use. or should I say "in abuse"?

it is simply a form of concubinage.

Unacceptable however it's defined.
Marriage is for life.

of course it is unacceptable as a replacement for the lifetime relationship designed for us by our Creator.
but, just as in polygyny, He chose to give us a few rules about how a concubine is to be treated.
to me this proves that a comcubine relationship (but not all concubine relationships by any means) can be legitimate.
