Does anyone know about this thing. It is from Focus on The Family(not my favorite org) My brother is taking this course at his church. It seems very slick and highly marketed to Gen-Y types. Anyway he is hyped about it:

What is Focus on the Family's
The Truth Project®?

In a recent study, the Barna Research Group revealed a stunning statistic that continues to reverberate throughout the evangelical world. Only 9 percent of professing Christians have a biblical worldview.1

Because of this, today's believers live very similarly to non-believers. A personal sense of significance is rarely experienced, we spend our money and time on things that fail to satisfy and we begin to wonder what life's ultimate purpose really is. We are, in short, losing our bearings as a people and a nation.

To counter this slide within the body of Christ, we are launching one of the most ambitious and powerful projects in the history of our ministry—Focus on the Family's The Truth Project.

The Truth Project is a DVD-based small group curriculum comprised of 12 one-hour lessons taught by Dr. Del Tackett. This home study is the starting point for looking at life from a biblical perspective. Each lesson discusses in great detail the relevance and importance of living the Christian worldview in daily life.

We believe this one project represents the possibility for exponential change within the body of Christ, as we expect that thousands will be transformed by this curriculum. As it has been throughout history, God continues to call ordinary people to make an eternal difference in our world.

Ok,

I wonder if anywhere in this curriculum they teach about family from a biblical perspective.

Knowing "Focus on the Family" I would think that the answer would be no. At least from what we consider a biblical perspective. Have you ever heard James Dobson's "Family Minute?" It is very mainstream Christian.

Yes I agree. They seem to me like Christianity, Inc. or McChristianity! I don't expect real deep study here, especially not on what family means, unfortunately.

FoF is a fun company to mail, discuss polygamy effectively a few times and you will get a mail saying that the person you are talking to has been forbidden to continue this discussion by a superior.

Oh Man,

If I got a letter like that I would feel like I was back in High School!!

That's because it's an "Indoctrination Center", Maria.

(Sadly, since it's not funny -- only true -- I can't put a smiley there. )

The key is in the name. If they were focused on Christ like they should be, then God would give them insight into the true family. Therfore, by definition as an extension, 'The Truth Project' is bound for failure, because it is not based on the real Truth which is Christ, so it is a lie. How much leaven does it take?

Be blessed,

Ray
