Switched At Birth

Ran across what is probably a TV series, "Switched At Birth" on Netflix. Interesting, but not for the reason one might expect...

It occurs to me that, minus sexual fuss, it may well provide a fairly realistic illustration of what people go through when trying to combine 2 families into a poly family.

I'd be interested if anyone else has seen or wants to watch it, thwen share their ideas. I find it very thought provoking.

Just happened to see this post while I was looking at the new activity in this sub forum, but I loved that show! And yeah, I can see where many of the issues they deal with would be the same for Ply families. Really, family is family, and the more the definition of what a family is changes in the mainstream world, the more poly-specific issues will seem less... specific.

About the show itself, I thought it did a fantastic job. Really, the portrayal of deaf culture was more impactful for me than the actual switched at birth part. It really, really made me want to learn sign, but I almost *never* run into signers, so I doubt I'd get much practice.

Great show though, netflix binged on it for a while. I think it's supposed to be a returning series, haven't looked in a while.
