Superman polygamy story?!?!

The weirdness of 50's comics... about like reality TV creating odd storylines in an effort to get/hold viewers...

It was amusing but, for the volume of comics produced in that period it's no surprise some amount of ridiculousness came through. Though it's interesting to see how far back some of the rot goes.

I'm shocked the story even got greenlit.
Same timeframe Marston, creator of Wonder Woman, was being vilified for his relationships? Makes perfect sense...

So who's going to write the superhero comic with the polygynous hero and his three female sidekicks? Seems like most superheroes end up going the serial monogamy route.

Ok... Had to look up Marvel. Apparently, Marvel's "Black Bolt" (king of the Inhumans, basically a cross between mutants and aliens) now has five wives -- for political alliance reasons, I think?

Spider-Man does not approve:

I'd like to see 'em put that in the next film!
Didn't that come through in the last? A friend pointed it out to me as one of his 'take aways.' During that time he and I had multiple conversations about Scripture and poly. After he saw Black Panther he was convinced that was a profitable undertone to Waganda, though he later said he did not think it 'profitable for today.' :(

Somehow that escaped my notice. But I did see the super powerful king pining for some strong independent women who didn't want him.
