Schools in the USA are clearly going nuts. Check this out:

A student has been denied a passing grade from his school because he refused to participate in a woke "re-education" class where people were labelled as "oppressive" or "privileged" by virtue of their skin colour, gender, religion etc, and actively discriminated against in class as a result. This student is biracial, but visually white, and the only apparently white student in a completely black class. And male. And Christian. You can imagine how unsafe and oppressed he'd feel in that setting.
Because I'm weird, I just read the actual court submission by his mother and himself. It's a detailed window into what students actually go through in school these days, and is very concerning reading. However, the attitudes reads to me as something similar to issues I faced in sex-education classes way back when I was at school. The fervour they are promoted with and the consequences for disagreement are just serious these days, rather than being restricted to in-class disagreement as I experienced many years ago. This is something that has been growing for decades, but is clearly reaching a very serious point today.
I don't know the state of things in schools over here today. I don't think it's this bad yet but it's probably moving in that direction. Our cultural and racial context is quite different so we would see different issues developing.
