Right thought getting another wife, wrong method divorcing?

Re: Right thought getting another wife, wrong method divorci

Yeah, that's a sad opinion. Ditch the spouse as soon as they need something that takes too much time. But, sad as it is, even a few 'moral majority' champions have done just that. I'd hate to think that if I had a medical problem my husband would kick me into the ditch because I couldn't make dinner or do laundry anymore...

I am so disappointed in Mr. Robertson ! His comments were shockingly egregious ! What does he think "for better or worse, in sickness and in health" really stand for ????

I saw that too...

The article allows for comments...

...and I was the second one to comment. I stated:

"Too bad he doesn't understand the scriptures...

"Robertson was asked what advice a man should give to a friend who began seeing another woman after his wife started suffering from the incurable neurological disorder."

The scriptures do not prevent a man from taking an additional wife. There is no reason this man should have to "divorce" his wife that is suffering to have an additional relationship. The monogamy doctrine is simply a lie.

HO-LY COW! :o
Let me first say that I do feel that a plural marriage is something that would work in my family, but boy oh boy if I was suffering from a terminal, and/or dibiltating disease like that and could not function as a wife to my husband or mother to my children, I'd let my husband take an additional wife as long as he *didn't* toss me to the curb or divorce me. That man's "love" is in the wrong part of his body if he feels it's OK to be with other women just because his wife may or may not remember the relationship they had. HE remembers... guess she didn't mean much to him.
Well, all of mankind will face their judgment, I wonder what he (and Pat) will have to say.
