Prayers requested for John's father

We just got word that my husband's father is not doing well. For the past 5 years John Sr. has battled congestive heart failure compounded by an adverse reaction to a medication that severely damaged his liver. This last year things seemed to be looking much better for him, and we were hopeful that there might be a chance of his liver possibly healing some.

Today, though, we were told that his heart isn't doing as well. If things go well, John Sr. will be able to undergo surgery where a stint will be put into place. There is the very possible chance that he will not make it through the surgery. It's also possible that his heart will be too weak for them to proceed with the surgery. In that case, it will only be a matter of time before he passes.

I'm asking you for prayers of support. For obvious reasons, this is terribly hard on John. He's holding up well, but the toll is still there. Please pray for my father in-law, John Sr. and for his wife, Betty. May the Lord give them strength to face this trial.

Thank you.

we are with you in prayer

Thank you all for the prayers.

John Sr was able to go in to have the stint put in, however, they aborted upon discovering that it was calcium deposits that are causing the blockage. That means they are unable to put the stint in. However, the doctor seems positive about an alternative solution to his problem.

John Sr is home now and resting and actually sounds a lot better than he did before going in. He's spirits are up and he also sends you his thanks for the prayers. :-)
