Prayer for Salvation

My son has a friend whose mother got in a car accident recently, and they discovered a non-malignant brain tumor when they did a cat scan on her. She is 42 years old, and is angry at God right now. My wife and I went to visit her last night, and I had the chance to share the gospel with her, but she said that she is too angry at God right now, to receive the gift of eternal life the He offers her. We shared Scripture, and how much God loves her, but she is going through a lot of pain, and she said that she feels ugly, because of the scars and the injuries to her face she suffered from her most recent accident. She feels like she was trying to be a good person, and has a hard time understanding why God allowed this to happen to her.

The accident made her go unconscious, and she had already blacked out before, and the doctors warned her that if she hits her head again, she could die. She is also having to wait for a specialist to get that tumor removed, and she can't work, and is on Food stamps, and has a bunch of medical bills, and she is going to have to move out of her apartment (I suppose into government housing) and she is also dealing with the fact that the pedestrian that walked out in front of her car was only 15 years old, and he died, so there is a lot of stuff going on there. We tried to get her to come to church with us before this most recent accident (she got hit by a drunk driver a year ago), but she does not want to do so, especially now with some of the broken bones in her face that didn't heal properly.

It is not unusual to become angry with those whom we love. Our Father designed us, so I simply assume that He not only has compassion for us when we experience anger toward our spouses, our parents, our children, our other loved ones -- but that, because He has a much stronger ego than we can imagine, He has even more compassion for us when we get angry with Him.

The good news is that your son's friend's mother is not becoming an atheist in the face of all the challenges confronting her.

@Daniel DeLuca, you and your wife have been strategically positioned in this dear lady's life for such a time as this. How she needs to be loved! As I pray for her, I'm also going to be praying that both you and your wife will see ways to share our Father's love in a multitude of ways with her. Let me encourage you to be creative in how you share that love with no expectation of receiving anything in return. Unconditional, sincere love shared a little here, a little there, as many times as you sense the Lord's leading will be a balm to this desperately hurting soul. Her son needs some good doses of the same.
