Those of you who attended either of the last two big Summer retreats, or the Phoenix or Sacramento West Coast retreats, had the privilege of meeting Ron Higgins and his wives, our West Coast representatives (they are in Phoenix). What they probably didn't volunteer to you there, is that Ron has ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). It's not something they focus on, and it no way has it affected Ron's positive outlook on life, his God, or his family. But, it has begun to affect his earthly vessel more, with even walking becoming a chore in recent months.
Ron's direct (and hilarious) approach to everything in life, has been a blessing to me beyond what I can state here, in the last year. And behind the scenes he has blessed many others at Biblical Families. We can't begin to understand God's ways in a matter like this - and it always seems so unfair. But we can ask our Father for what we'd like to see, and I want to ask you to please join with us, not just today, or this month, but on a regular basis, to join us in prayer for our brother Ron. Please, ask God for Ron's miraculous healing, don't be afraid to ask - and then ask him to at least extend Ron's time with his family way beyond what the doctors suggest will be the case. We know God loves him and his ladies, so this is not too much to ask of a loving Father.
Please add Ron, Mariechen, and Jan to your regular prayer time, and keep them there.
