We went down to the playground for a picnic lunch today. There were a group of teenagers there and we sat pretty close to them. My son loved how they were mucking around and playing with a ball. Unfortunately then this conversation occurred.

Boy 1: (To girl that was just arriving.) Hey! What up? T got into L!
Girl: What?
Boy 1: T got into L, really.
Girl: No way! No f****n way! You can't have!
T: Yip, Sat night.
Girl: But she's a Christian! (See where I'm going with this now?)
Boy 1: She's a Christian?! (Hits T on the back) Whoop!

The conversation ended for a bit until another boy came along.
Boy 2: What up?
Boy 1: T got into a Christian!
Boy 2: No way! F***. Who?
T: L, Sat night.
Boy 2: So are you guys...
T: Na, she regrets it.
Boy 2: So how the hell'd you manage that?
T: F*** everyone was drunk aye. I was so s***faced. Had to tell girls to stop dancing on the table.

And so they all sat around talking about how much of a man T was. His mates especially were egging him on, so proud of him for getting into a Christian girl. And all I could think of is how this poor girl must feel. Everyone knows. I know, they weren't exactly keeping quiet! Everyone knows she made a mistake.

I've posted this on here because I know that you will all see it the way that I do, for the immature and worrying conversation and act that it was. I hope that you will all think beyond the conquests of a young man and see the hurt that will be in that young girl right now. I imagine she is feeling very upset and lost. So please pray for her. Pray for this young girl that none of us know.
Please pray for these boys too.

Thank you.

yuck

one teensy-weensy bright spot;
evidently they consider a Christian as not easy. proof that at lest some are upholding standards.

How sad. Praying it will be a defining moment for her and not a destructive one.
