March 2025 Biblical Families Newsletter - 5 Questions

And if she accepts a portion of your teaching, but not all, is she a candidate for you?

Would you take her in marriage and then continue to teach and lead, or is she an unequally yoked non starter?
If she is obedient to her husband, even if she disagrees with his understanding of scripture and his application of it, then there can be peace. It is far better if she agrees but that is not required. Obedience is critical. Not this idea of passive resistance either. In obedience, one must choose to embrace the instructions wholeheartedly even when they disagree with them.

Depends. ;)

Is she teachable? Accepting of her husband's headship, or not?

There will be no pork in my house, period, except for perhaps the dogs. And no leaven during the week of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. And if she can't understand BOTH His Sabbath, and His ordination of marriage as her covering does, up front, there will be no 'union.'

As for "sprinkling", and 'head covering,' and lighting candles, and wine, and chanukkah or 'xmas trees' and a hundred other areas where those 'denominations' go 'ape$#it,' but there might be even a bit of Scriptural ambiguity - I don't see those as anything more than discussion items. But, come to think of it - there will be no Ishtar eggs in the house, either...

Absolutely. Emphasis on the 'passive resistance,' issue, too. I speak from bitter experience. If the obedience is NOT to the entirety of His Word, there WILL eventually be a 'lack of peace.' And that obedience to her husband will always be less than her genuine obedience to Him.

Yes, peace. I like that addition. I would never expect that an intelligent, scripture studying wife would ever give up opinions, or just give up thinking, as long as the disagreements are discussed in peace.

Over time, I’ve come to value my wife’s input on many things. She can see my blind spots better than I.

So you’re going based on your own assumptions based on your reading? Got it.

When you’re plural, come back and give your authoritative input. Until then, your assumption is worth no more than mine.
Epistemiology is your problem here.

Good ideas can come everywhere. Correct move is to evaluate idea, not person.

I know allegedly true story of janitor fixing problem for architects and engieerings.

Janitor approaches group and ask them what are they doing.

A&E: Finalizing plans for elevator.
J: It will be mess, duat everywhere.
A&E: No problem. We will close hotel.
J: Why don't you just build elevator outside?

Commentary in newsletter is based on how your marriage is blessing for Lord. Didn't anybody noticed marriage must all be blessing for people involved?

1) Why do desire plural marriage?

Starting with more sex for me, more companionship and love for me and between wives, more children raising support, greater division of labor etc...

3) I'm counting cost?

Nope.

These is cost of learning to manage such family. Part of deal.

Regarding social cost, well....I need to find my people.

4) How I would be blessing to wives?

You mean what is my value added to my wives lives?

Let's start with what makes man attractive.

There are also person specific parts like knowledge combined with knowledge how people learn which should provide interesting conversations plus educated children.
