Last week our lead pastor's daughter was driving our youth pastor's daughter and 2 of their friends to a concert. She lost control of the car on the interstate, crossed the median and was t-boned by an SUV. The passengers in the SUV are fine. The 4 girls are definitely still in need of prayer. The driver only had a minor physical injury, but a great deal of emotional distress. The other girls have much more serious injuries and are still in the hospital (though seeing the car, it's amazing they survived at all). Below is the latest update shared by our youth pastor on his daughter's condition. She is the one with the most extensive injuries.
Sunday update: Some small victories today. Rylie's heart rate dropped through out the night from a steady 140 to the low 100s and high 90s. She responds to commands to open her eyes. She still does not squeeze hands, wiggle toes or track with her eyes. The dr. Would like to ween her off the ventilator and possibly do a trach. She has been initiating breaths so that is a good sign. They also are weening her off her ivs and giving meds and through her feeding tube. They want to eliminate anyplace that infection could set in. If she can get off the ventilator she is scheduled for cosmetic surgery tomorrow morning to fix some trauma to her face. Today we are celebrating small things like she yawned and moved her hand purposefully!
