Gotta love them Catholics

I have been sharing Jesus with a lot of Muslims recently and it's ironic how often they remind me of Catholics.

*large hierarchys of teachers, prophets, bishops....
*belief in multiple mediators between God and man
*most of the congregation doesnt read the scriptures and think it's not a problem that they dont read the scriptures.
*the leaders have vastly contradictory teachings especially about family and sex
*most think the common person isn't really ment to discern the scriptures for themselves.
*the congregations are very afraid to leave the flock.

All this amounts to large groups of people following religious professionals while not being sure why they are following or where they are going.

It just hit me you can insert a bunch of other denominations into this description too but for some reason islam and Catholicism appear more similar to me.

My first thought after glancing at the article was that they probably were just trying to revive participation in confession. Lol

I think the universal strategy is to create confusing conflicting doctrine, this makes it all sound so complicated that the average member of the flock gives up even the idea that he can go it alone and then picks whatever shepherd he is most comfortable with.

Yes! I think this is spot on!
