Fruitful leisure

I am looking for suggestions on how to rest in a fruitful fashion.

My particular issue is that I go to bed later than the rest of my family. I know that I need to rest while I am awake alone, but I do not want to waste my time.

I used to work most of my late night free time until the Father corrected me and told me that my reason for working all the time was anxiousness. So now I make sure to stop working at a reasonable hour and I feel a little lost with how to use the time.

I find that this is my most profitable study time. You do have to be careful though, you may wind up at 4 in the morning wondering where the time went  All in all, I have never regretted one minute of the time. It seems odd but I’ve never really missed the sleep and the silence of the night seems to amplify His still small voice. You may be amazed at what He opens your eyes to during these moments.

If there's something that interests you, it's fun to learn about it during rest times. I like to listen to music. I go for walks and try to find a particular something that makes the regular neighborhood fresh. Yesterday was Sabbath, so I went for a walk with the goal to find the best looking Iris. Then all the regular yards and gardens became brand new because I had something exciting to explore in them. When I found the best looking one, I sent a photo to a friend. I find it hard to sit around, and I'm not sure that's what's meant by rest... To me, resting from work is resting from the pursuit of my own economic kingdom and making myself bigger. It's about enjoying what God has made in all it's many ways.

You might be a poet. Thanks for the helpful thoughts.
