Since I attended the summer retreat I have had two married men send one of my wives friend requests on Facebook. In my family my wives do not generally accept friend requests from other men unless they are family. Yes, this is the way I want things to be done, and thankfully they have been very supportive of this decision.

I'm not suggesting that if you don't do the same thing in your family, that you are wrong and my way is right. I'm just stating how we do things in my family and that's not going to change.

However, I do find it suspicious when men that I worshiped with at this summer's retreat send my wife a friend request. The reason I find these requests suspicious is because they never sent me a friend request before or after they sent my wife a friend request.

If you have no desire to build a friendship with me, then you have no business trying to develop a friendship with my wife, so stop it.

If you haven't noticed this organization is called BIBLICAL Famlies. And this type of activity does not avoid the appearance of evil.

I totally agree. 👍

@blessedwith2 I agree with you. I have almost the same stance in my family. Why would someone send the wives requests and not the husband? These women belong to their husband.
Maybe they couldn't find him, especially if he doesn't have a relation listed to either wife like most people in plural marriages do on Facebook. In fact, in my world of Mormon fundamentalism, it's extremely common not even to have photographs together because it was something for the government to use to take your children and throw you in prison for the last 140 years.

Or maybe they had a conversation in person...

Maybe they couldn't find him
Unlikely. There weren't THAT many people at the retreat. There were 12 plural families. Maybe around 120 people total. It was fairly easy to at least know generally who everyone was, after hanging out with them for 4 days straight.

If they went to the retreat, then it's likely they knew who he was.

Our solution is no Facebook, no Instagram, no Pinterest (which I liked), and no texting. Social media can be destructive and it's best to avoid it.
