When it comes to joining together with my wife, I am quite good at that. "Thanks God but I think I got this..."

Unless, of course, God was NOT talking about the consummation aspect but rather the miraculous joining of DNA at the sperm and egg level. That is what I believe the Lord has His hand in. The "knitting" of the two elements into a single "one flesh". It is irresponsible and murderous rip that apart in the "asunder" aspect. The purposeful killing of that unborn (or abortion, for those of you in Rio Linda), IS the PUT ASUNDER of Matthew and Mark.
The way of the world is to make a deal with the devil and that idol called chemosh or molech (and many other names like Planned Parenthood) and sacrifice the next generation. God says, "don't do that!" Don't do idolatry!
Don't want babies? Don't do the deed!

Interesting perspective. I’ve often wondered if the one flesh description meant procreation (two haploids forming a diploid) in addition to what we’ve been led to believe. It makes scientific sense. And yes, abortion is abomination.

This has been a point of discussion many times accompanied with being stuck in the BF version of a time-out and a tongue lashing. Not everytime does the physical joining of two bodies result in the creation of a baby However, that joining is requisite to make said baby. When the joining of bodies stops we can call that the drawing asunder but that doesnt make sense to me whereas in the context of ancient Israel the murdering of babies necessarily involved cutting and putting asunder the precious baby in Idolatry and idol worship. It is admonished to God's children- Don't do that!
